Kapitel 2. Der Jahrestag

1. Heute ist der 15. Mai.
2. Es ist der Jahrestag der Verlobung von Kerstin und Robert.
3. Kerstin möchte Robert eine Überraschung bereiten: sie will zu ihm nach Hause nach Stuttgart fahren, um zusammen diesen besonderen Tag zu feiern.
4. Sie weiss, dass Robert bis 17 Uhr in der Arbeit ist, deshalb geht sie zum Bahnhof von Frankfurt, um den Zug um 16:18 zu nehmen.
5. Die Uhrzeiten sind perfekt! Am Bahnhof ist auf dem Platz die große Uhr und im Inneren ist der Fahrkartenschalter.
6. Die Züge fahren in alle Richtungen und deshalb ist der Bahnhof sehr überfüllt.
7. Kerstin geht zu Gleis 4 und steigt in den Zug nach Stuttgart. Leider fährt der Zug mit 10 Minuten Verspätung ab, aber Kerstin kommt in Stuttgart genau rechtzeitig um 17 Uhr an!
8. Als sie zu Hause bei Robert ankommt ist es schon halb sechs.
9. “Sicher ist Robert schon zu Hause” denkt Kerstin, also läutet sie die Türklingel und wartet, aber niemand öffnet die Tür. Robert ist nicht da.

Chapter 2. The Anniversary

1. Today is May 15.
2. It’s the anniversary of Kerstin and David’s engagement.
3. Kerstin wants to give Robert a surprise: to go to his place at Stuttgart to celebrate this special day together.
4. She knows Robert works until 17.00 so she goes to the station at Frankfurt to catch the 16.18 train.
5. The timing is perfect. At the station there is a big clock in the square and inside is the ticket office.
6. Trains go to every part of Germany so the station is very crowded.
7. Kerstin goes to platform 4 and boards the train for Stuttgart. Unfortunately the train is ten minutes late leaving, but Kerstin arrives at Stuttgart at 17.00, just in time!
8. It’s already 17.30 when she arrives at Robert’s house.
9. “Robert is sure to be home,” thinks Kerstin. She rings the bell and waits, but no one opens the door. Robert isn’t there.
